Welcome to Eighth Grade!

My name is Cat Cabral, and I am honored to join the St. Jerome team! I am a Bay Area/El Cerrito native, and love being a part of this community.

I completed my BA in English from UC Santa Barbara, and my Masters of Education at Chaminade University of Honolulu. I hold credentials in both secondary English and educational administration. Passions of mine include hiking, traveling, literature, film, music, dogs, and education reform.

The seventh and eighth grade English curriculum is Socratic, project-based, and aligned to the Common Core State Standards. Effective argument, narrative, and informative writing are at the heart of the program. Further, a strong speaking component prepares students to communicate across the curriculum while developing their unique voice.

I look forward to an exciting and fulfilling year!
