Dear St. Jerome Catholic School Families,
Thank you to everyone who celebrated the Spring Festival with us on Sunday! It was a beautiful day filled with joy and laughter. Thank you to everyone who: donated items, helped with the set-up, worked the booths, cooked, and cleaned-up. We couldn’t have done it without your help. A very special thank you toNelly Gutierrez for chairing the event again this year; we thank you for your tremendous effort and hard work!
It is hard to believe that the school year is winding down. As we begin to plan for next school year, I hope that you will think about how you can contribute to our school community. The registration packet included an informational sign-up sheet for Room Parents; perhaps you could help out with your child’s class. Or maybe you are a great hostess or maybe you are an organized person and you would like to contribute to the school community by serving on our Parent Teacher Group? The purpose of the Parent Teacher Group is to plan community - building events and to help raise funds for the school. Please let me know if you would like to serve our community as a leader.
Speaking of community – building, have you sent in your RSVP for the Parent Appreciation Fiesta on Wednesday the 29th? We are going to celebrate our amazing year, honor our volunteers, and, there will be a sneak peek regarding next school year. We will also welcome our new 3rd and 4th grade teachers. So, don’t miss out on a fun-filled evening!
Tuesday, May 28th is the last hot dog lunch, and we will be celebrating Miss Alice's birthday, which is in June. This is Miss Alice's 46th year of volunteering to do hot dog lunches! We would like to shower her with flowers on that day. If you would like to participate, simply send flowers in the morning with your child. We will make a few bouquets for her, which we will present to her at an assembly on the 28th.
We hope that everyone has enjoyed Spirit Week. Join us tomorrow for an afternoon of St. Jerome student talent at 2:00pm for our Talent Show sponsored by Student Council.
Please don’t forget that Red Balloon payments that cover May 1 – May 24 are due Wednesday, May 29th.
Enjoy the long weekend!
Blessings of Christ’s Peace,
Principal Wilkie
Are you interested in having your child take piano/keyboarding class? Please see the message below from Juliana, the MUSE Piano instructor.
MUSE Piano Recital May 30 & Fall Pre-registration now open!
Please join our wonderful student piano players for their Spring Recital on Thursday, May 30 at 7:00 pm in Rohan Hall (underneath the church). They have been working hard all semester and have some lovely music to present. This would also be a great opportunity for prospective parents and students to check out the piano program and meet the instructor, Juliana Graffagna.
Registration is now open for fall piano classes. A discount is available if you register by July 15. All beginning-advanced piano players in grades 2-8 are welcome in these lively, 30-minute, group keyboard classes designed to encourage a life-long love of music-making. Classes focus on music literacy, theory, technique and improvisation. All materials are provided and recitals are held twice per year. Classes are taught Thursdays after lunch by Juliana Graffagna, who will begin her 5th year with MUSE at St. Jerome. No experience is necessary and space is limited so sign up early! To register, contact http://www.museband.com/Register.html. For questions about the class, contact Juliana at info@julianagraffagna.com or 510-435-7844.
