Dear Prospective Parent,

Welcome to Saint Jerome Catholic School. Thank you for your interest in our school and for considering a Catholic education for your child. At Saint Jerome Catholic School, we are committed to sharing our Catholic faith while embracing a diverse population, and people of all faiths. All are welcome, because all belong. Our school community consists of families from the some of the following religious backgrounds: Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Protestant, Hindu, Muslim, along with some non-religious families. Our vision is to provide a student-centered environment stressing the development of the whole person so that our students develop the skills and values necessary to become responsible, contributing citizens of the 21st century.

Our proud tradition of Catholic education began in 1941 when Monsignor James Rohan established Saint Jerome Catholic Parish in El Cerrito, CA. Under his leadership, the parish quickly grew and through its prosperity the parish approved property for the founding of St Jerome Catholic School. On August 21, 1955, Monsignor Rohan welcomed five sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary to Saint Jerome Catholic School and to the parish.

Today, just over 60 years later, our Saint Jerome School Community continues to thrive. Our success is owed to our dedicated faculty and supportive families, who over the years, continue to support and value the importance of Catholic education.

As a Catholic school, we value a rigorous curriculum that prepares our students well for college preparatory high schools and college/university. We also value enrichment classes that provide our students with a well-rounded, creative curriculum. Our students are engaged in a STEAM curriculum offering Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Our primary grade students are also gardening and harvesting as they learn to be Stewards of God’s creation. Our middle school students are participating in Performing Arts through their enrichment classes of Music and Theater. All students in grades K - 8 also take Physical Education and Spanish classes, which are both taught two times per week.

Thank you again for considering Saint Jerome Catholic School. If you have any questions, or if there is any way that we can assist you in this important decision, please feel free to contact us.
