About Chickpea Club
Chickpea Club is a family affair. What we make at school is what we also eat at home. By keeping that in mind, we bring our commitment to bringing a highly nutritious and delicious meal prepared fresh daily. Healthy food requirements will be met using the highest quality, all natural ingredients with the inclusion of organic ingredients where possible. Our vision is to help build a delicious lunch program for all children and a convenience for all parents.
About the Chef - Keith Schauffel
Keith is the proud father of a 3rd grader at St. Jerome school and a wonderful husband. He started cooking at 9 years old for his parents and 3 older brothers. At age 14, he began working at a nearby restaurant on Long Island. After graduating high school, he attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He traveled to France and Switzerland to study the art of sugar and chocolate. When he returned to the US, he accepted a position as Assistant Pastry Chef at the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City. At age 21, he was the Chef and Owner of a restaurant and catering business in St. Helena, CA for twelve years. He taught at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena, CA. Keith is also certified in nutrition consulting.
