About Mrs. Cosbey

I am excited to be teaching at a Catholic school in the Oakland Diocese because our diocese has given me so much. Now I have a chance to give back and inspire the youth.

I grew up in a small town on the other side of the Caldecott tunnel called Moraga, where I studied from elementary school through college. I graduated with a degree in Music- vocal performance at St. Mary's College. I was and still am very involved in my home parish, St. Monica. I have cantored there for 7 years now, and I also sing in our church choir. I have been singing for weddings at St. Mary's College for 6 years. I love singing because it is a way for me to touch hearts, heal, inspire, and to use God's gift for the good of others. It is also a way for me to express myself in ways I cannot speak, and is a way for me to get in touch with my true inner self. I want to inspire and to help young people find their own passion and God's gift for them because the happiness that comes from sharing one's passion and gift is indescribable and I wish that everyone can experience such a feeling.

I was a member of the Contra Costa Children's Choir, and all my school choirs while growing up. When I started sharing my voice at church by cantoring, singing in the youth band, in the adult choir, in weddings, and in funerals, I realized how important it is to use our gifts to help others. I love working with young people. I want to inspire them to love to learn as well as to find their passion. Through following my passion, I met my dear husband in the Dedication Choir that was put together for the opening ceremony of our cathedral in Oakland: Cathedral of Christ the Light. Besides singing, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love to bake, draw, hike, run, and eat desserts!
